Alice Marie Ebert Arndt of Belleville, IL passed away on January 27, 2019 at the age of 82 years, 4 months, 11 days. She was born on September 16, 1936 in Lesterville, MO, a daughter of the late Charles and Julia Williams Ebert. In 1983, Alice was united in marriage to Donald Arndt who preceded her in death on July 31, 2016; a loving marriage for more than 33 years.

Alice is survived by Donald’s children; Jeff and wife Sally Arndt, Steven and wife Leslie Ardnt, Julie and husband Tim Coggeshall and their children. She is also survived by one sister, Betty England, one brother Leland Ebert, a sister-in-law, Velda Ebert, and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Preceding Alice in death are a sister, Dorothy Reeves, a brother, Lawrence Evert, two brothers-in-law; Glasco Reeves and Alfred England, a sister-in-law, Imogene Ebert, and three nephews; Ronald Reeves, Darrell England, and Randall Ebert.

Alice graduated from Lesterville High School, Arkansas State University, and Southern Illinois University completing her education with a Masters Degree in Education. She taught business classes and was the head of the Business Department at Cahokia High School in Cahokia, Illinois for 18 years before moving to Southwestern Illinois College, Belleville in 1977 and retiring in December 1995. After retiring, Alice and Donald made their home together in Smithton, IL.

Alice had a beautiful voice and enjoyed playing the guitar. She and Donald loved to travel the western United States and they spent several winters in Florida after they retired. Alice will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 starting at 1:00 pm from the Cole family chapel. A visitation will start Saturday at 12:00. Interment will be held in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park.
