Obituary for Alice Hensel Alice P. Hensel, 87, of Newburg, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was born Tuesday, August 11, 1931 in Newburg, PA. Alice was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Carrie Shuman Hensel.

She was a member of the Newburg United Methodist Church and attended Hopewell United Methodist Church, McKinney. Alice retired from the former Howard Johnson’s Restaurant at the Blue Mountain rest stop on the PA Turnpike. She was a 1949 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.

Alice is survived by one daughter, Kathlene E. (Roger) Bistline of Mercersburg, one grandson, Ted Bistline of Chambersburg, three great-grandchildren and one sister, V. Sophia Nelson of Newburg. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Theron Hensel. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg.

Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Brand W. Eaton. Burial will be held in the Otterbein Cemetery, Newburg.

A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, 10 Enola Rd. , Newburg, PA 17240.
