After graduating high school, she went on to Baker College in Baldwin, Kansas and joined the Tri Delta Sorority. She attended Baker for two years, transferred to Southern Methodist University in Texas for a semester, then transferred to the University of Kansas (KU) in Lawrence, where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.

While attending KU, Vicki met Larry Meuli, her devoted husband of 58 years. Vicki and Larry were married on June 30, 1960 in Coffeyville. Vicki worked as a preschool teacher while Larry attended medical school in Kansas City.

After Larry graduated from medical school, Vicki spent her time raising three children, Matt, Mindy and Marlo.
