Obituary of Alice Groton Alice Louise Groton, 83, of Pocomoke City, died on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, following a short illness. Born on March 28, 1935 in Richmond, VA, she was a daughter of the late Effie Lucille Hayden Denston. Alice worked at the SOCO service station in Pocomoke City for many years and did housekeeping for several Pocomoke area families.

She loved playing bingo at the Pocomoke McDonalds, doing crossword puzzles, shopping at flea markets, working in her yard and collecting angels. Her family was the most important part of her life, especially her grandchildren and her one great grandson. She is survived by three sons, Wayne Collins (Reta) of Eden, MD, Brian Collins (Linda Adkins) and Richard Collins (Tammy Milburn) all of Pocomoke City; one daughter, Zina Parks (Guy) of Bloxom, VA; two sisters, Virginia Kirwan, and Megan Evans; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah and Dominic Parks, Shelby and Daniel Collins and Allison and Katie Milburn and one great-grandson, Tayvion Simpkins.

In addition to mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Labelle; two brothers, Clarence Hayden and Alvin Lee White and her step-father, Beverly Frances Denston. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 2:00PM at the Holloway Funeral Home, P.A. in Pocomoke City where family and friends will gather for a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev.

Donnie Bailey will officiate. Interment will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pocomoke City, MD. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 107 Vine Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851.
