Aloma D. (Heidemann) Badertscher was born February 15, 1931 to Ernest and Esther (Baucke) Heidemann at Elk Creek, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and attended St. Peter’s Parochial School through the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Eldon L. Badertscher on June 2, 1949 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

To this union five children were born. They made their home west of Tecumseh where they raised their family and Aloma was Eldon’s right-hand helper on the farm. Aloma always raised a large garden and loved gardening, (as long as there were no snakes), her flowers, cats, quilting, her parakeets and cardinals, eating pie, (she loved having dessert first) and was a wonderful cook, especially her bread and sticky buns.

She was a hard- working home maker and farm wife and also worked in the kitchen at the Maple Grove home and for her son Randy at his butcher shop. Aloma always made lunch for the guys on the farm at 4:00. She and Eldon enjoyed traveling, antique shows, threshing bees, and going polka dancing.

Eldon passed away June 11, 2013. Aloma loved going to auctions, collecting antiques, making rhubarb wine and beer, watching her grandchildren, going gambling and was always very quick-witted. Aloma was a wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma.

She passed away at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Aloma is survived by her daughter, Carol Ehlers of Steinauer, sons, Randy Badertscher of Bern, KS, Ron Badertscher of Tecumseh and Royce Badertscher and wife Nancy of Tecumseh, daughter-in-law, Joyce Badertscher of Tecumseh, grandchildren, Tony Badertscher and wife Jane and son Tyler, Brad Badertscher and wife Leah and children, Elijah, Sammy and Blaise, Mark Badertscher and wife Tami and children, Kayden and Reese, Jennifer Manning and special friend Troy and daughter Kelsey, Jeremy Ehlers and special friend Mandy, Traci Badertscher and fiancé Leartist Williams and children L.J and Jalonte, Scott Badertscher and wife Liz and daughters Brooklyn and Kinley, Brandon Badertscher and wife Becky and children Chailey, Xylie and Embree, Chris Badertscher and special friend Sara and daughter Kennedy and Lacey Badertscher and special friend Juan, sister, Leona Beethe of Elk Creek, sisters-in-law, June Heideman of Tecumseh, Esther Hassan of Riverbank, CA, Vonny Badertscher of Blairsville, GA, Erma Wright of Lincoln and Ruth Bray and special friend Donald Othmer of Tecumseh and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eldon, son, Roger, grandson, Braden, son-in-law, John Ehlers, brothers, Leland and Harlan Heidemann, brothers-in-law, Rayman Beethe, Delmar Badertscher, Elmer Badertscher, Ned Hassan and Donald Wright and sister-in-law, Lola Heidemann.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) Church, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska with Pastor Eric Biehl officiating. Closed casket visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

Interment will be in the St. Paul’s U.C.C. (Maple Grove) Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska. Online condolences may be left @ www. wherrymortuary.com.
