Obituary for Alvin Lee Choate Lakeside – Alvin (Lee) Choate, known to friends as “Lee” passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the age of 85 in Lakeside. Lee, a native of Smithfield, served his country in the Army during the Korean war. He retired from Bell Helicopter after having worked many years as a machinist.

He was active in an RV club, enjoyed fishing and golf. He was a beloved husband, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Stella Choate.

Survivors: Wife, Florence; sisters, Sammie Evans and Nita Autrey; daughters, Janice (George) Hansen, Cindy (Duston) Wilson, Cheryl (Mike) Etie, Tammy (Jimmy) Fox; sons, Randy (Joyce) Carter, Ronnie (Pam) Carter; six grandchildren, Sam (Veronica) Choate, Pete Hansen, Beka Hansen, Clint (Becca) Carter, Cody (Amber) Carter, Jason (Sarah) Carter; Seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
