Obituary for Billy Joe Trotter FORT WORTH – William J. Trotter, a.k.a Billy Joe, was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas, and died peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at home in Fort Worth surrounded by loving family. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations welcome to University Baptist Church.
He was an active alumnus of Arlington Heights High School (1950), a Fort Worth businessman and Public Accountant. He held current and former memberships in various professional organizations including the Fort Worth Rotary, Westside Rotary, Colonial Country Club, Century 2 Club, North Fort Worth Association, Ridglea Business and Professional Association, Fort Worth Girls Club, Fort Worth Theater, Fort Worth Jaycees, University Baptist Church, Ridglea Baptist Church, U.S. Navy, ZYKO Fraternity, 1850 Club, Sons of the American Revolution and Cubmaster of Cub Scout Den #21 at the University Christian Church. He was Producer of the “Miss Ridglea” contest held in 1961 at the Ridglea Theater.
He was Publisher in the 1960s of the Ridglea Classified Directory. He was owner and operator of the first executive recruiting service in Fort Worth and “Western Men/Girls” a temporary help service during the years 1950 � 1968. He co-owned an Oil Distributorship, an Employment Agency and a Public Accountant Firm.
He became interested in genealogy in later years of his life and had found his Trotter ancestors in Virginia in 1725 upon their migration from Scotland and England to the United States and was a researcher for the genealogy book “Isham Trotter of Brunswick County, Virginia” published in 2002. He was preceded in death in the USA by his GGGGGG Grandfather, James Trotter, Sr.; GGGGG Grandfather, Isham Trotter, Sr.; GGGG Grandfather, Isham Trotter, Jr.; GGG Grandfather, James Walter Duke Trotter; GG Grandfather, John Duke Trotter; G Grandfather, Rufus W. Trotter; grandfather, Walter Duke Trotter; father, Marion Elliott Trotter; mother, Hallie Grace Walker Trotter; brother, Marion Edwin Trotter; special aunt, Annie L. Walker Gage; and special uncle, Charlie Rufus Trotter.
