Mr. Alvin “Thomas” Harris February 20, 1933 – May 13, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation SERVICES: Thursday, May 16, 2019 Jones and Son Chapel 10:00 a.m. INTERMENT: Union Cemetery/Beaumont VISITATION: Wednesday, May 15, 2019 Jones and Son Funeral Home 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Jones and Son Chapel for Mr. Alvin Thomas Harris, age 86, of Richton, who passed from this life on May 13, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. Bro. Scott Pittman, Bro.

Andy Pittman and Bro. Josh Dunn will officiate with burial to follow in the Union Cemetery in Beaumont. Pallbearers will be Tyler Pittman, Landon Mayo, Brian Daughdrill, Heath Pittman, Myles Mayo and Devon Woods.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ashley Nicholson, Tim Woods and Jimbo Woods. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Mulford and Laura Harris. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Pittman Harris of Richton; sons, George (Connie) Pittman of Richton, Donald (Teresa) Pittman of Richton; daughter, Christy (Derane) Mayo of Richton; brothers, Alton Harris of Richton, Cecil Harris of Lucedale; sisters, Martha Hardy of Petal, Ernestean Nicholson of Richton, Carolyn Hillman of Leakesville, Marolyn Manning of Leakesville; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved friend, Odie.

Mr. Harris worked in the oilfield for 20 years and later owned Harris Backhoe Service for many years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, 2019 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Jones and Son Funeral Home.
