Obituary for Americo F “Corkey” Mancini Americo F.” Corkey” Mancini, 97 of Park Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday evening, January 4, 2019 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany, NY. Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 6, 1921, he was the son of the late Guiseppi and Josephine Rossi Verderese Mancini. Americo was the proprietor of Bee Line Lunch in Amsterdam for 39 years.

He also worked at Hasbro Industries, Bigelow Sanford carpet mills. He served with the United States Navy seabees from 1942 to 1945. Americo was a former member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and currently Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam.

His wife, Theresa I. Luciano Mancini predeceased Americo on August 7, 2013. He is survived by one son, Michael Mancini (Jackie) of Amsterdam, two daughters, Suzanne Testo (Paul) of Clifton Park, NY; and Diane Jankowski (Jim) of Broadalbin, NY; eight grandchildren, David, Steven, Jessica, Ashley, Amelia, Christopher, Angela and Amanda, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Americo was also predeceased by three brothers, Oraizo, Frank and Frederick Mancini and two sisters, Philomina Falco and Edith Luciano. Funeral services will be held Friday morning January 11, 2019 at 10:45 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, followed at 11:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St John Street, Amsterdam, NY,12010, with Fr. Lawrence Decker officiating.

Interment will take place at St. Michael’s cemetery, Amsterdam. A calling period will be held from 9:00 to10:45 prior to the service at the Riley Mortuary.
