Obituary of Joyce Decker Joyce C. Decker, age 94, formerly of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, February 22, 2019 at River Ridge Living Center, Amsterdam, with her family at her side. She was born December 22, 1924 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Charles and Grace Graham VanAlstyne. She was a self-employed glove contractor for various leather glove companies in the area for many years.

She was of the United Methodist faith. She enjoyed embroidery and making baby blankets. Joyce is survived by two children, Jacquelyn Terranova and Larry M. Decker; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Mearl Decker; her brothers Earl and Harold; her sisters Ruth, Helen, Blossom and Dorothy. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to River Ridge Living Center, 100 Sandy Drive, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205 .

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
