Obituary of Janice Woodcock Janice M. Woodcock, 66, of Switzer Hill Road, Johnstown, NY died peacefully on February 5, 2019 following a long illness. Born on December 27, 1952 she was the daughter of Lois A. Lotridge Collins and the late Richard E. “Dick” Collins. An area resident for many years, Jan was a 1971 graduate of Fonda- Fultonville High School.

She then went on to attend SUNY Potsdam and the College of St. Rose obtaining her Master’s Degree. She was employed as a teacher with Lowville Academy for 10 years She was united in marriage to Curt D. Woodcock on August 12, 1978. They were together for 40 years and raised two children together.

Jan was also very creative and enjoyed baking and crafts. Survivors include her husband Curt; her mother Lois; children, Scott Woodcock and his wife Barbara of Naples, FL and Sarah Woodcock of Fonda; and one brother, Jerry Collins of Fonda. Services will be private and take place at the convenience of the family.

There are no viewing hours. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sandflats, Fonda, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078 or the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
