Amy J. Rothmeyer, 45, of Merrill, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Amy was born August 20, 1973, in Merrill, daughter of Stanley and Sandra (Ingersoll) Rothmeyer. Amy struggled with hearing and vision diseases at a young age.

When she was in high school, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Amy was a strong-willed, tenacious young lady. She never took ‘no’ for an answer or complained about her situation.

Amy graduated from Merrill High… Read More » School with the class of 1992. She was an in-home daycare provider, and had also worked at McDonald’s and Wal-Mart. She had been married for nine years.

In 1998, Amy endured the stillbirth of her infant daughter, Anna Marie. Amy moved to Dundee, New York in August 2001. She enjoyed her time there with her significant other, Thomas Leech.

She and Tom moved back to the Merrill area in 2006. Amy loved kids, her cats, the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the color purple. Survivors include her parents, Stanley and Sandy Rothmeyer of Merrill; significant other, Thomas Leech of Merrill; sisters, Tammy (Dan) Pick of Merrill and Shelly (Paul) Rode of Stanley; brother, Benji (Christina) Rothmeyer of Merrill; sister-in-law, Tammie Rothmeyer of Merrill; nephews, Kyle (Sarah) Rothmeyer, Jared (Erin) Rothmeyer, Morgan Rode and Sawyer Rode; and niece, Ava Rothmeyer.

Amy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Anna Marie Schwartz; brother, Robin Rothmeyer; infant nephew, Ethanael Rothmeyer; and grandparents, Rueben and Stella Rothmeyer, and Marvin and Mildred Ingersoll. A memorial visitation for Amy will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. A family memorial service will take place immediately following the visitation.

The Rev. David Szeto will officiate. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
