Life’s Reflection Andre’ Lendell Edwards, 48, passed away in May 13, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital CICU. Andre’ was born on February 25,1971 in Kansas City, Kansas to Grover Cleveland Edwards III and Patricia Davis Edwards. Andre’ grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1989.
He attended Kansas City Kansas Community College. Andre’ professed his faith in Christ at an early age at the Salem Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. As an adult, he became a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Grandview, Missouri and assisted in the Video/Audio Ministry.
Andre’ held a number of jobs after high school, but his favorite was with Costco Wholesale of Kansas City, Missouri. Andre’ was an original Costco employee at the store on Linwood in Kansas City, Missouri, from the time the store opened 19 ½ years ago until his retirement in 2019. Andre’ worked in almost every department at Costco’s from sales in electronics to optical and just loved his different jobs there and most of all he loved his Costco family and co-workers.
Andre’ also known was “Dre” was quite a GQ when it came to style and dressing in which he did very well. Dre was also a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, KU Jayhawks Basketball team. “Dre” enjoyed listening to music and his favorite past time of all was watching the Martin Show on TV over and over.
He thought Martin was funny. He enjoyed concerts, comedy shows, and two-stepping. Andre’ was precede in death by his grandparents; his father, Grover Cleveland Edwards III; aunts, Anna Mae Godbold and Imogene Davis Barnett; uncles, Willie Godbold and Dale Godbold; cousin, Jeffrey Davis; and nephew, Jordan Williams.
Andre’ is survived by his son, Andre’ Edwards Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Cassiah Renee Perkins of Kansas City, Missouri; sibling, Daryl Edwards of Kansas City, Kansas; Jeron and Khadijah Edwards of Raytown, Missouri; Aledra Edwards of North Kansas City, Missouri; Grover Cleveland Edwards IV of Olathe, Kansas; Patrick Edwards of Grandview, Missouri; his grandson, Jalen Edwards of Raytown, Missouri; his granddaughter, Dani Edwards of Raytown, Missouri; his uncles, Derrick “Rickey” Edwards of Kansas City, Kansas; Terrance “Terry” Edwards of Kansas City, Kansas; Elder Dennis Butler of Kansas City, Kansas; his aunts, Portia Brown-Miles of Kansas City, Missouri; Robin Herns of Kansas City, Kansas; Pamela Davis of Independence, Missouri; Celcila Davis of Lee Summit, Missouri and Dorothy Brown of Lee Summit, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
