Angelo “Cuddy” S. Boscarino, 97, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Selma (Solomon) Boscarino for 67 years. Cuddy was born August 27, 1921, in Harwinton, CT, son of the late Ralph and Molly (Colangelo) Boscarino.

He served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge in January of 1946, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. Upon his return home, he was employed by Buzzi and Bonvicini Contractors until his retirement.

He was a longtime member of the Torrington Elks Lodge and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the coffee shop. An avid Yankee fan, he also enjoyed watching softball games at Toro Field. He enjoyed volunteering regularly at the Lourdes Shrine, and at their annual Tag Sale, and he was a communicant of St. Peter Church.

In addition to his wife Selma, he is survived by four sons, David Boscarino and his wife Mary of Torrington, Fred Boscarino and his wife Amparo of Georgia, James Boscarino of Torrington, Ralph Boscarino and his wife Diane of Torrington; one brother, Fred Sorvillo of Hernandes, FL; eight grandchildren, Michael, Rusty (Michelle), Heather (Brian), Anthony, Dominic, Patty (Peter), Robert (Gerri), Joseph; five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Carol Boscarino and three sisters, Josephine Jenkins, Angie DeBrot and Antoinette Zanetti Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, with the cortege leaving at 12:00 noon from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
