Anita’s Obituary Anita G. Rodriguez, 72, entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2019. She was born on July 22, 1946, in Gonzales, Texas to Jose Maria Gonzales and Anita Cano Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alec Gonzales.

She is survived by her husband Gabriel Rodriguez, her son, Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr. and her daughter, Rebecca Rodriguez; grandchildren: Jeremiah, Mariah, Anthony and Amberly; sisters, Valerianna Hunt (Roger), Janie Trap (Oscar), Debra Cruz (Daniel); brother, David Gonzales (Griselda). Anita was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, “Auntie” and friend. She was full of strength, courage, boldness, happiness, and full of love.

She had a giving and generous spirit, a sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor that her family loved and will miss dearly. Anita was a woman whose strength over not just the past few years of failing health, but over a lifetime, was surmounted only by her will and determination to ensure that her family was loved and cared for in every way. We are so grateful that her strength pulled her through the darkness so many times, and know that, this time, the light on the other side was what she needed to fully heal.

She will be forever loved and remembered. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. at Castle Ridge Mortuary.
