Anita Jean Williams Evans, GA – God and his infinite mercy called his child Anita Jean Williams home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Anita was born in Lockport, New York June 7, 1934 to Fred and Gertrude Norman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Green B. Williams, Jr. and her sister, Sharon Nelson of Waterloo, New York.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Amy J. Long (David) of Summerville, SC, son, Norman Williams (Kathy) of Evans, GA, step daughter, Carla Rossiter of Cape Cod, MA, grandchildren, Collin Williams, Walker Long, Sullivan Long, Wren Williams, and niece, Katherine Nelson. Anita was educated at the Barker Central School and Brock Port State Teachers College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She spent 32 years teaching, mainly at Bayvale Elementary.

Rose gardening, sewing, and arts and crafts were her passions. Anita spent much of her time volunteering at her church, Ascension Lutheran. Funeral services will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Michael Freed officiating.

Interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, in Rome, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church 2860 Wells Dr., Augusta, GA 30906 or CSRA Parkinson’s Association, 116 Lottie Ln.
