Ann’s Obituary Ann Hope Thacker Hicks, 75, of Burgin, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born April 13, 1943 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lucille Lawson Thacker. She retired as a Registered Nurse having worked for several years at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and more recently at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore and graduated as a member of the last class of St. Joseph’s Nursing School.

She was a member of Burgin Baptist Church and had attended Shawnee Run Baptist Church; she enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter Kathryn (James) Teater of Lexington; one son Brian Hicks also of Lexington; one brother Jerry (Janet) Thacker of Burgin, one sister in law Dorothy Thacker of McKinney, TX. , two grandchildren: Constance Teater and Seth Teater both of Lexington; and her two cats “Baby” and “Old Girl”.

Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Tim Steffen officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with James Teater, Seth Teater, Brian Hicks, David Hibbard serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
