Mrs. Susan Ann Wood McLean, 67, formerly of Newnan, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at her home in Grand Lake, Colorado. Ann was born February 6, 1952 in Yokohama, Japan to the late James E. Wood & Sadae Ikawa Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Gibby.

Ann graduated from Newnan High School in 1970 and received her undergraduate degree from Columbus State University. She later obtained her master’s degree from the University of West Georgia. Ann began teaching math and science at Newnan High School in 1979.

In her 28 years teaching, she touched the lives of numerous students and she mentored many teachers. In 2005, Ann was head of professional development for the Coweta County School System until retirement in 2010. The funeral is 11 o’clock Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Newnan with Rev.

Mike Emeott officiating. A private, family burial service will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening between 5-8 at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan.
