Anna M. Shafer, 86, of the town of Byron, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Anna was born on May 5, 1932, in Belvidere, Illinois, the daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (nee Butler) Walley. On October 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Marion Shafer in Harvard, Illinois.

Anna loved spending time and cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved keeping in touch with family and friends via frequent phone calls. Anna loved playing BINGO/and talking with all of her friends there.

Those Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Marion “Todd”; five children, Bill Shafer, Tim Shafer, Scott Shafer, Sue (Brian) Strey, and Toby Shafer; three grandchildren, Matt (Alison) Shafer, Krista Shafer, and Mitch (Amanda) Shafer; two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Aurora Shafer. Further survived by a brother, Norris (Marge) Walley; many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Walley and her parents-in-law, Hubert and Susie Shafer.

Funeral services for Anna will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Home, 350 Main Street, in Lomira. Anna’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Anna’s arrangements.
