Cheraw, SC Mrs. Annie Dora Goude Lisenby, age 91, entered into heaven on January 19, 2019. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at West Side Baptist Church by Dr. Steve West and Rev. R.P. Grice with burial to follow in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Lisenby was born May 11, 1927 in Bennettsville, SC a daughter of the late David and Bessie Goude and the wife of the late Fred Lisenby. She was a homemaker and worked at Cheraw and Salisbury Cotton Mills; Roses; Robinson’s Drapery and Pioneer Clothing, but her most joyful time was spent babysitting 25 children over the years.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Butch) Chelluk of Lugoff, SC, and Cheryl (Lafon) Grice of Gibson, NC; and her loving daughter in law, Dianne Lisenby of Chesterfield, SC. Also surviving are her grandchildren which she was very proud of, Bill (Rhonda) Stokes of Chesterfield, SC, John (Christy) Stokes of Winnsboro, SC, Veronica Ayer of Lugoff, SC, Roxanne (Grady) Jordan of Columbia, SC, Tracy Grice of Gibson, NC, Shannon Grice of Raeford, NC, and Melinda (Ty) Williamson of Gibson, NC; 16 great-grandchildren, Bo (Erica) Stokes, Christian Stokes, Johnathan (Kaylee) Stokes, Madison Stokes, Sydney Stokes, Harley Stokes, Jansen Stokes, Josh Ayer, Beck Ayer, Lyra Jordan, Charlotte Jordan, Holden Grice, Bella Grice, Johnathan Williamson, Matthew Williamson, and Savannah Ange; 3 great-great grandchildren, Jimmy Williams, Sofia Williams, and John Ranerson Stokes; and her beloved brother, Ray (Pearl) Goude of Gloucester, VA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Dora was also preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Lisenby and John Robert Lisenby; and brothers, Billy (Virgie) Goude and Franklin (Doris) Goude.

Mrs. Lisenby was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church in Cheraw, SC and particularly enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School; she also enjoyed cooking for her family and gardening, and served as Den Mother for her son’s Cub Scout Pac. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of Cheraw Healthcare for the excellent and loving care they provided Mrs. Lisenby and also thank you to the staff of Agape Hospice for their loving care.
