Anthony M. Guadagno, Jr., 80, of Johnstown, New York, was reunited with the Lord on February 26, 2019, at home following a brief illness. Tony, as he was best known by his family and friends, was born on February 15, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Anthony M. Guadagno, Sr. and Anna Buchicchio Guadagno. Tony worked in the construction business most of his life and lived in California, Idaho and Virginia before returning to New York.
He was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Central School and served in the United States Army National Guard. Tony was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He enjoyed his four-legged friends most of all.
His dogs, Monétand Lollipop, have been entrusted to a dear friend, Dee, to care for them the rest of their lives. At Tony’s request, the ashes of his beloved dog, Cece Marie, who passed away a few years ago, will be mixed with his ashes. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Joey Guadagno; sister, Hope Ingles; and brothers, Joseph Ganes and Philip Guadagno.
Survivors include his son Anthony M. “Bud” Guadagno, III;daughter Michelle A. Tirado; granddaughter Alexis N. Tirado;all of Amsterdam, New York; brothers Carmine (Carolyn)Guadagno of Fonda, New York, John (Gloria) Guadagno of California and Michael (Elinor) Guadagno of Nevada and sister-in-law Betty Guadagno of Amsterdam. He is also survived by Patricia A. Crowley (Mother of Anthony III and Michelle) of Broadalbin; step-daughters Geraldine Schreppel (Robert Fleming) and Robin Kane both of Johnstown, New York. Tony is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and other step-children.
The family invites relatives and friends to the calling hours on Tuesday, March 5th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the service immediately following at 1p.m., Rev. O. Robert De Martinis of St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam will be officiating at the Gloversville Funeral Service, 4 Second Avenue Gloversville, New York. Cremation will follow at Park View Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
