A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald DeLucia at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Saint Charles Church, for Anthony R. Parisi, 91, who passed away at his residence Tuesday morning with his family at his side. Tony was born October 13, 1926, in Youngstown, a son of Apollonio and Dora Dominic Parisi.

He was a lifelong area resident and diehard Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He graduated from Rayen High School before serving in the Army from 1945-1946. He was a meat cutter at the Boardman Sparkle Market for 42 years, retiring in December,1988.

He then joined the UFCW local 880 Retirees Club. He was a long-time member of United Commercial Travelers and current member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 858. Tony was a 70-year member of St. Charles Church and ushered there until his health prevented him from continuing.

He also volunteered at Hospice of the Valley for over 25 years. Tony leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, the former Daryl Salliotte, who he married January 11, 1973, two sons Gregory F. (Noelle) Parisi, Anthony R. Parisi, II (Fred (Mary) Michael) both of Florida, a daughter-in-law, Judy Parisi, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother Joseph H. Parisi, a son William D. Parisi, an infant brother Joseph Parisi, an infant sister Carmella Parisi and a great grandson, Gregory Parisi, III.

The family sends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Hospice of the Valley who cared for Tony during his final illness. They truly served as God’s angels all. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Fox Funeral Home 4700 Market St. in Boardman.
