Antonio Napoletano, 101, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully after a long, full life, surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening, May 20, 2019 at Clove Lakes Nursing Home in Staten Island, New York. Antonio was born on July 4, 1917 in Bari, Italy, where he grew up and met his adoring wife, Damarida. On April 19, 1952, Antonio and Damarida were married and began their lives together in Italy, where they also started their family.

In January of 1955, they relocated to Canada and in July of 1968, they immigrated to the United States with their family, starting their lives in Brooklyn, New York. Ultimately in 1992, they settled in Staten Island, New York. Before retirement, Antonio worked as a Longshoreman for many years with the International Longshoremen’s Association.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was loved immensely by all of his family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Marco and Laura (Vessia) Napoletano. Antonio is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 67 years, Damarida (Alberga) Napoletano, his loving children, Antoinette Mammaro and her husband, Frank, of Staten Island, New York, and Marco Napoletano and his wife, Michele, of Staten Island, New York, his cherished grandchildren, Marie Pastena, Frank Mammaro and his wife, Kelly, Anthony Napoletano and his wife, Sara Ann, Daniel Mammaro and his wife, Christine, and Jillian Napoletano, along with his adored great grandchildren, Gianna, Lorenzo, Frankie, Hailey, Marco, and Daniel.

Antonio will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday morning, May 24, 2019 from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10314. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, May 24, 2019 at 11:30 AM at St. Thomas Church, 6097 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York 10309.
