Saratoga Springs, NY Arlene T. Bombardier of Wesley Health Care Center, Saratoga Springs and formerly of Plattsburgh, NY, Sarasota, FL and Duanesburg, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She was 95 years old. Born on July 15, 1923, Plattsburgh, NY, she was the daughter the of late Edgar Guay and Electa Bourgerie.

Her husband of 63 years, William Francis Bombardier passed away on March 17, 2004. Arlene loved to quilt and knit and won many prizes and ribbons at the NYS and FL State Fairs and various county fairs in both Florida and back home at the Altamont Fair. On many occasions she earned and received the People’s Choice Award for her beautiful quilts.

She also loved the beach, the sun, boating on Saratoga Lake and in FL, playing cards, reading and long walks. Her greatest joy was her many grandkids. In addition to her husband William, she is predeceased by a grandson Kristopher Hickey.

Survivors include two sons, Gaylord Bombardier of Fort Lauderdale, FL and William Bombardier of Thurman, NY, two daughters, Brenda Zelenke of Clifton Park, NY and Deborah Hickey and her husband John of Ballston Spa, NY, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 10 am to 12 pm on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Tunison Funeral Home 105 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm following the calling hours on Monday.

Burial will be at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery with her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to The Wounded Warrior Project, www. woundedwarriorproject.org/donate or The Veterans of Foreign Wars vfw.org .
