Arthur T. “Art” Farr June 05, 1954 – September 05, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Arthur T. “Art” Farr, 90, formerly of 128 East Avenue, Johnsonburg, died on Wednesday evening, Sept. 5, 2018, at Penn Highlands-DuBois following a brief illness. He was born March 5, 1928, in Johnsonburg, son Joseph, Sr. and Mary Walker Farr.

On June 5, 1954, he married Elizabeth A. Schultz in St. Leo’s Magnus Church, Ridgway and she survives. Art resided in Johnsonburg all his life and attended Johnsonburg High School. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Church and VFW, both in Johnsonburg.

He had also been a member of the Johnsonburg American Legion Post 501. He was a Korean-era Navy Vet, serving at sea as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class aboard the USS Iowa. He had been employed by Penntech Papers of Johnsonburg for 46 years, retiring in 1983.

In addition to his wife at home, Art is survived by one daughter, Ann Marie Farr, at home; and one brother, George Farr, of Johnsonburg. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Arthur J. Farr; a brother, Joseph Farr, Jr.; and sister, Gertrude Simbeck. A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur T. Farr will be conducted at the Holy Rosary Church on Saturday, Sept.

8, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Wilson, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.

Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, Friday evening, Sept. 7, from 6-8 p.m. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg Servicemen’s Detail.
