Asencion “Chon” Rios, Jr., 65, of Big Spring died Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Lubbock. Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park He was born August 30, 1952, to Augustina and Asencion Rios, Sr. in Snyder.

He loved going to work. Chon loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and going to the casinos. He is survived by his wife: Margie Rios of Big Spring; three sons: Asencion Rios III, of Austin, Jeffrey Rios of Florida, and Zachariah Rodriguez of Arizona; three daughters: Tara Lopez of Big Spring, Diana Zubiate of Forsan, and Becky Sue Lopez of Big Spring; three sisters: Gloria Canales of Denton, Ofelia Mow of San Antonio, and Teresa Jasso of Snyder; three brothers: Danny Rios of Austin, Ricky Rios of Snyder, and David Rios of Colorado City; four blessed boys: Robert Barraza, Ryan Lopez, Freddy Castillo, and Eli Castillo; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Geneva Castillo. Pallbearers will be Robert Barraza, Ryan Lopez, Jose Castillo, III, Eli Castillo, and Simon Zubiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Zubiate, Alfredo Lance Castillo, Jay Lopez, and Michael Zubiate.
