He was the son of Myeshia F. Whaley and Daunte’ A. Smiley. In addition to his parents, he is survived by: a brother, Gavin Deshields; maternal grandparents, Michael and Faith Whaley; paternal grandparents, Allen and Patricia Smiley; maternal great-grandparents, Bishop Major and Betty Foster; paternal great-grandmother, Phyllis White; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 11 AM at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 18211 Beach Highway, Ellendale, DE. Bishop Major Foster will officiate.
