Ashley Lane Smith was born to Emma Smith and Calvin Anderson. VILLE PLATTE-Funeral services for Ashley Lane Smith, 36, will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 11:00 A. M. with the visitation beginning at 8:00 A.M. at Owens-Thomas Funeral Home in Ville Platte, LA.

Burial will be in Ninth B. C. Cemetery in Ville Platte, LA. Rev. Freddie Holmes, Jr. will officiate the service.

“Buddha”, as he was affectionately called by those who knew and loved him, was a loving, caring and beautiful soul who loved his family. Buddha spread his love to all he came in contact with. On May 15, 2019, Ashely was called home from his earthly adobe in Ville Platte, LA, to enter into the gates of Heaven.

Cherishing fond and unforgettable memories of his life will be his parents: Calvin Anderson and Emma Smith both of Ville Platte, LA; his devoted fiancé: Bridget Jones of Ville Platte, LA; two brothers: Calvin and Rasaan Smith both of Ville Platte, LA; his grandmother: Mary Ann Smith; a great-uncle: Calvin Freeman; three great-aunts: Lonies Fontenot, Mary Lee Thomas and Annie Bell Arvie; a Goddaughter: Jacquelyn Frank; his Godmother: Nora Thomas; his cousins: Crystal (Justin) Narcisse, Kenneth Perkins, Dennis Dillion, Deearke Dillion Carlos Bonds, Lionel Narcisse; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Cleveland and Edmonia Anderson; and his Godfather: Roland Thomas. Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
