Obituary for Austin Ray Patterson Austin Ray Patterson, 88, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 29, 2018. He was born May 12, 1930, in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. He was the fourth of nine children born to Harve and Gladys Person Patterson.

He was raised on a small tobacco farm in Tellico Plains. He graduated from Tellico Plains High School in 1948. He later joined the United States Marines in 1951.

He spent his working career as a General Contractor. He was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Margaret Ruth Millsap Patterson, whom he married on August 6, 1957 in Knoxville, Tennessee; his parents; siblings, James Patterson, Kenneth Patterson, Alice Patterson McCoy, Robert Patterson, Jack Patterson, Charlie Patterson and Denny Patterson.

Together they raised and loved their three children, Barron Ray Tallent of Pine Bluff, Steve Mikel Tallent of Little Rock and Jeanne Huber Barrett of Pine Bluff. Austin and Margaret’s home was full of love and laughter for their eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Donald Patterson of Tellico Plains.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6 to 8 PM, at Robinson’s. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018, 9 AM, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Reverend M. L. Faler officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens.
