Benjamin Crane Decamp Ill, 86 of Harbor Springs, Michigan passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 22, 2018. Crane was born on July 6, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Benjamin Decamp and Mary Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Susan Decamp.

Family members include brothers: Phil, (Joan Hamon), Jim, deceased (Carol Mills), Nieces: Cindy Croyle (Greg), Julia Neff (Jim), Laura Sardo (Dave), Cheryl and nephew Steven, and cousins, Jay Silver, Dorothy Cotter, Barbara Martin (deceased) and Martha Torrance. Crane grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, attended the University of Illinois and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. On June 6, 1959 he married Susan Dewar in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was widely respected in the architecture field and his career took him to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and New York City, where he worked with renowned architects Eero Saaranin and Marcel Breuer. Throughout his career he was able to design both his previous and current home. Upon retirement he moved to Harbor Springs and enjoyed sailing Little Traverse Bay, along with his lifetime hobby of model trains.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on July 3rd at 10am with Fr. Greg Brown of Emmanuel Episcopal Church officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Stone Funeral Home of Petoskey.
