Mary Ann English, age 70, of Cheboygan passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey. She was born December 9, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Biaggio and Rose (Faruggia) Valore. On May 27, 1988 in Las Vegas, Mary married Kenneth English.

Mary had work as an Administrative Assistant for the financial consulting firm Price-Waterhouse in Philadelphia for several years retiring in 1998. Ken and Mary then moved to Warren, Michigan for two years before moving to Cheboygan in 2004 upon Ken’s retirement. Mary was an active member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Cheboygan.

Survivors include her husband, Ken of Cheboygan, two daughters, Sondra (Steve) Haye and Kendra Griffiths, both of Ohio, two sisters, Kathy Freed of Washington and Jo Wasniak of Ohio, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sally Shenk. Visitation will be held at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, June 15 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 16 at 2:00 PM, also at the funeral home Pastor Daniel Marquez officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
