Obituary for Barbara A. Barnhart When tomorrow starts without me, try to understand an angel came and called my name, then took me by my hand…. . Barbara A. Barnhart, 81, of E. River Road, Nichols, passed away on May 11, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents George L. and Ruby (Byrd) Fulcher;and a brother-in-law Duane Barnhart. Barbara is survived by her husband Robert; her daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Gary Vanderburg of The Villages, Fla; Pamela Hess of The Villages, Fla; Terri Lucero of Alamosa, CO; Christina Winkler (Gary) of Berkshire; Michelle and Ray Glover of Newark Valley; Stephanie Rogers of Ulster; Jeffrey Barnhart of Smithboro; her sister Nancy Ezell of Portsmouth, VA; sisters-in-law Elaine Gustavson and Pat Barnhart; half-siblings Judy, Susie, Jackie, and Jim; special grandchildren Joey, Tina, Felicia, Roxanne, Bradly, Brittney and Brooke; great grandchildren: Kyle, Danae, Alexis, Jayson, and Blake. Nieces and nephews: Tracie Dovel, Roger Ezell, Ronnie Ezell; and dear friends Jim and Marcia Pierson.

Barb was born on February 10, 1937 in Bluefield, West Virginia. On May 10, 1991 she married Robert Barnhart and together they celebrated twenty-seven years of marriage. Barbara was a retired employee of IBM Endicott and attended the Lounsberry United Methodist church.

She enjoyed traveling, especially visiting Lancaster, Virginia, Colorado and Florida. Her greatest treasure was being surrounded by her family. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, May 16th from 10 to 12 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will follow at 12 pm with Pastor Jon Austin, officiating.
