Barbara A. Hovancik, 78, of Binghamton, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin G. Hovancik in 2002 and her parents, Anthony and Laura (Orzel) Manchack; sister, Antoinette Wilcox and nieces Ashley and Kendall Dukes. She is survived by; daughter, Karen (Rudy) Zavada and son, Peter (Lori) Hovancik.

Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Cathy (Richard) Steika; brother-in-law, David Wilcox and nieces, Robin Steika, Rebecca (David) Waldstein and Lauren Wilcox. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the second floor nursing staff at Susquehanna Nursing Home, especially Annemarie, Jennifer, Dan, Sissy, Jessica, Victoria and Sally for the excellent care and compassion shown to our mother during her stay. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11AM at J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc. 150 Main Street, Johnson City, NY.

The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Barbara’s memory may be made to Mercy House, 212 North Street, Endicott, NY 13760.
