Barbara Baldwin Rigby, 59, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully Friday evening, February 15, 2019 at the Columbus Hospice House while surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm EST on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Pastor Skip Speed officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City. Barbara was born January 20, 1960 in Phenix City, AL to Bobby Baldwin, Sr. and the late Delores Mae Helms Baldwin. Barbara was employed with Synovus with 23 years of service.

She was a Graduate of Auburn University and a huge supporter of the Auburn Tigers. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time in her yard, but her greatest joy was family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Smiths Station.

Other than her mother, she was preceded in death by a very special father-in-law, Rev. John Rigby She is survived by her children, Allyson Carter and husband Johnathan, Ashleigh Tidwell and husband Patrick, John “Jake” Jacob Rigby, and Ian Blake Rigby, her father, Bobby Baldwin, Sr., one brother, Bobby “Bob” Baldwin, Jr. and wife Susan, spouse, John Mark Rigby, a very loving mother-in-law, Margie Rigby, sister and brother-in-law, Gina And Mike House, very special in-laws, Danny and Cay Tice, Ruth Austin, Cynthia Bradley, and two precious grandchildren, Meghan Tidwell, and Isaiah Carter, nephews Philip Baldwin, and James Bradley, and nieces Anna Elswick, Laura Jones, and Lindsay Bradley, and several great nieces, and nephews, numerous other loving family members, church family, and many caring friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request that make a donation to the Barbara Baldwin Rigby Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
