OBITUARY Barbara Evelyn Schadewaldt June 17, 1934 – October 24, 2018 Barbara Evelyn Schadewaldt, 84, of Rockford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Born June 17, 1934 in Rockford. Daughter of Robert Edward and Evelyn Faye (Bunker) Cook.

United in marriage to Emil Paul Schadewaldt Jr. on December 21, 1953 in Rockford. He predeceased her on December 9, 2013. During her lifetime she was employed doing secretarial work for Ingersoll Manufacturing, Harlem High School for the Principal and Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She found great enjoyment in feeding and watching the birds especially Hummingbirds, gardening and traveling anywhere warm and topical having Hawaii being her favorite. Survived by her daughters, Diana (Edward) Hogshead, Debra (John) Bolton, Denice (Frank) Bartucci; grandchildren, Nathan (Maggie) Brandon, Amie (Ryan) Walker, Aaron (Tiffany) Bolton, Micah (Katie) Bolton, Vincenzo Bartucci, Dominic Bartucci, Francesca / Adam Bartucci, Dario Bartucci; great-grandchildren, Abigail Brandon, Skylar Brandon, Gage Brandon, Colton Brandon, Gunner Brandon, Nolan Schumann, Ellie Schumann, Emma Bolton, Lucy Bolton, Emmett Bolton, Parker Bolton; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband, Emil; siblings, Robert Cook and Clara Bridges.

Family wishes to thank the compassionate staff of Alden Debes and OSF Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Barb’s name to the American Diabetes Association, 55 E. Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60603. Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Monday October 29 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park.
