Barbara Gower Puzo, formerly of Bartlett Ave. , Homer, passed away peacefully, comforted by her loving family, on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, Barb was born July 28, 1935, a daughter of the late Edward and Maude Minney Rogers.

She had been employed Smith Corona, Crescent Corset and Cortland Corset before retiring, in 1997 from Cortland Line. Barbara was a member of the Burns – McCauliffe Post 465 American Legion Auxiliary for more than 40 years. She was a volunteer for many years at Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center, earning her 1000 Hour Pin in 2006.

Surviving are her seven children, Marjorie (Herman) Cortez of McGraw; William P. (Deborah) Gower of Groton; David P. (Debra) Gower of North Carolina; Daniel K. (Sherry) Gower of Phoenix, AZ; Joel D. Gower (Brenda Parker) of Groton; Robert E. (Becky) Gower of Cataula, GA and Timothy J. (Jody) Gower of Cortland. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold L. Gower in 1993 and her second husband, Thomas P. Puzo in 2004.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, services will be at the convenience of the family.
