Barbara J. Cori, 70, departed this life peacefully at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, in the arms of her family following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Frank, her two children, Corinne, spouse of Gerald French, Houston, TX, and James, spouse of Candace Cori, Southington, CT, and four grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved. Barb was the daughter of Helen and Alfred Gottman, of Glassboro, New Jersey, who preceded her in death as did her sister, Carole Schmidt, and brother, Robert.

Born in Woodbury, NJ, Barb grew up in South Jersey where she attended school and worked as an executive secretary until her marriage to Frank, which resulted in her moving to Schuylkill County. Barb was first and foremost a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was supportive of her family in all their endeavors and took joy in their successes.

She loved to dance to her Motown tunes. She enjoyed summers in Sea Isle City and dining out every Saturday night was mandatory. Barb was an avid mahjongg and tennis player through which she made many good friends.

In lieu of flowers, Barb asked that donations be made to Seton Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 1000 Seton Manor Rd. , Orwigsburg, PA 17961. A Scripture Service will be conducted Saturday, November 10th, at 10 a.m. at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will be privately held at the family’s convenience.
