Barbara’s Obituary Barbara J. Peterson, 93, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018. She was born on January 14, 1925 in Ashland, WI. Barbara graduated from Northland College in Ashland with her degree in education.

She started teaching in 1949 in Eagle River, then later at Manitowoc Lincoln, and then Bay Port High School where she retired in 1989 as a Reading Specialist having implemented Masters of Learning and Sustained Silent Reading. Barbara was a den mother for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and was also involved in Girl Scouts. She remained very independent throughout her life.

Barbara is survived by her children, Bill (Judy) Peterson and Ann Peterson; grandchildren, Rob (Tara) Peterson and Kayla Peterson; great-grandchildren, Reegan, Ava, Wesley and Kinsley Peterson; nephews, Donnie Peterson, Dickie Peterson; and a niece, Diane Peterson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen S. Peterson; her parents; and her sisters, Janice Midler and Carol Moore. Visitation will be at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave.
