Barbara’s Obituary Barbara J. Prichard, 84, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at The Living Center in Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Marshall with Rev. Sandy Nenadal officiating.

Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Crossroads Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.

An online guestbook is available at www. campbell-lewis.com Barbara J. Prichard was born on August 31, 1934 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank D. Svoboda and Ethel McCrum Svoboda of Olivia, MN. Her father was the county agricultural agent of Reville County, Minnesota.

Barbara graduated from Olivia High School in 1952. She attended Mankato State Teachers College in Mankato, MN for three years taking a year off to go to France to be with her husband, Ray Prichard, who she married on December 18, 1954. She finished her undergraduate degree at Missouri Valley College in Marshall and her Master’s degree in elementary education at UCM in Warrensburg, MO.

She taught school in Marshall as a substitute and full time teacher in the 5th grade for 28 ½ years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, active in the Deborah Circle, sang in the church choir, was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, PEO Chapter JS, Coterie Club, enjoyed playing bridge, and being active in the Marshall Water Garden Club. She loved her scottie dogs and working in her garden.

In addition to her husband, Ray; she is survived by four children, Ronald G. Prichard (Susan), Thomas W. Prichard (Karen), Joan Arth (Doug) and Wendy Davis (Andy); eight grandchildren, Sarah Jenkins, Robert Prichard, Evan Prichard, Mary Stephens, Stephanie Ramirez, Brian Prichard, Logan Davis and Cooper Davis; four great-grandchildren, William Jenkins, Caden Jenkins, Amelia Jenkins, Owen Ramirez; and soon to arrive, Mia Ramirez. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and James Svoboda.
