Frederick, 71, of Tomah and formerly of Camp Douglas, died Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Serenity House. She was born on September 10, 1947 to William and Marcella (Fuenger) Schreier in Sparta. Barb was united in marriage to Norbert Frederick on September 24, 1966 unto this union four children were born.
On June 19, 1998, she was united in marriage to Charles J. Siess. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2010. Barb enjoyed cooking which led her to Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in New Lisbon, working as the head cook for over 28 years and also at Target Bluff for several years.
She was a faithful and devoted member of St. James Catholic Church in Camp Douglas, singing with the church choir for over 50 years. In her spare time, she would often go camping, bowling and loved doing crafts, crocheting and baking. Barb enjoyed backroad country scenery, spending time at Castle Rock, the warmth of a summer night campfires, and the family farm in Clifton.
She is survived by her children: Timothy (Karen) Frederick of Kendall, Dennis (Jennifer) Frederick of Issaquah, WA, William (Angie) Frederick of Middlebury, IN and Mindy (Danny Woodring) Forsythe of Tomah. 9 Grandchildren: Lily Frederick, Alyssa Young, Megan Franklin, Ian and Madison Forsythe, Jonah and Faith Frederick, Alex and Braden Frederick, and 3 great grandchildren. 3 Stepchildren: Annette (Rick) Philllips, Rich (Deanna) Siess, Jennifer (Michael) Watters.
Her siblings: Don (Julie) Schreier, Jim (Janet) Schreier, Loraine (Paul) Weidemann, Jack (Sharon) Schreier, Mary (Paul) Hoeft, Matt (Kathy) Schreier, Sue (Jeff) Winters, and Steve Schreier. In-laws: Norbert (Ruthie) Siess. As well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is further preceded in death by her first husband, Norbert and second husband, Charles. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 11:00 am at Queen of the Apostles Parish at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 303 West Monroe Street, Tomah. Monsignor Richard W. Gilles will officiate.
Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery, Camp Douglas. A Parish Rosary will be held on Monday at 4:00 pm at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah with a visitation for follow until 7:00 pm and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Online condolences may be given at www.
