Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Slack Memorial Cemetery in Springhill, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.

Barbara was born on December 9, 1949 in Springhill, LA. She was a longtime resident of Anacoco, LA. She received her Bachelor degree, Masters and +30 from Northwestern State University, and spent the next 37 years teaching.

She retired in May of 2008 after many years as an Elementary School Teacher at Anacoco. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon & Pauline Slack Mize; Her Husband: Joe Piro; One Daughter: Kaye Suzanne Piro. She is survived by: Her Son and Daughter in law: Paul & Marie Piro of Jonesville, LA; Her Daughter and Son in law: Jocelyn & Kyle Wilson of Jackson, MS; Her Brother and Sister in law: Hugh & Eva Mize of Springhill, LA; Four Grandchildren: Anna Piro, Wen Piro, Adeline Wilson, Grayson Wilson; and her close friend Vada Sennett.
