OBITUARY Barbara Whitlow September 12, 1946 – July 22, 2018 Barbara Gale Whitlow, 71, of East Peoria, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at her home. Born September 12, 1946 in Lewisburg, TN to Leighmon and Annie (Adams) Johnson; she married Matthew Whitlow on April 19, 2002 in Peoria, IL. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Kim Barnewolt (John Wilton), Dena Parks of Georgia, David (Cheryl) Parks, Jr, Jay (Lisa) Parks of South Dakota, and Davey (Justine) Parks of Colorado; sisters, Terry Gibson of Havana and Kathy Brown; brother, Gerald “Buzz” Brown; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kelly Parks and brother Michael Brown. Barbara was most recently a clerk in the Creve Coeur Water Department and previously worked at Super Liquors and Regions Bank.

Family was most important to Barbara and she loved family gatherings. She enjoyed caring for her plants and flowers. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Fondulac Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.
