Obituary of Barbara VanAmburgh BARBARA J. VANAMBURGH Loudonville- Barbara J. VanAmburgh, 91, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 8, 2018 at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, Troy. Born in Albany, on September 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Katherine (Goetz) Walker. She and her beloved husband George F. VanAmburgh cherished 49 years of marriage before his passing on December 27, 1998.

Barbara worked as a Long Distance Operator for AT&T in Albany, retiring in 1958. She was a former member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, as well as former member of Colonie Elks Lodge # 2192, Menands Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Colonie Senior Citizens Club. Survivors of Barbara include her daughters, Kathleen Marie (Ian) Thomas of Hopkinton, MA and Lori (Ed) Ingles of Seattle, WA.

She’s also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Alan and Andrew Thomas, Brian and Thomas George Ingles. Barbara is predeceased by dear companion, John P. Quinn. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday November 12, 2018 from 12:00 noon-2:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.

Funeral Services for Barbara will be celebrated on Monday at 2:00 pm at the conclusion of the visitation at the funeral home with Fr. John Cairns officiating. Interment will take place next to her husband George in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
