Obituary for Bernard Lee Ball Bernard Lee Ball, age 73, of The Plains, VA, died on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Healthcote Health Center, Haymarket, VA. He was born on August 11, 1945 in Fairfax, VA to the late Melvin Howard and Mary Catherine Downs Ball. Bernard worked as a Blacksmith, making horseshoes for the equestrian community in the Middleburg area.

Bernard was the beloved husband of 16 years of Katherine Marie Timbers Ball, loving step-father of Rose Marie Timbers of Front Royal, VA and the late Thomas Timbers, brother of Paul Jason Ball of Leesburg, VA, Ellen Kannard of The Plains, VA and the late Donald Ball Earl Ball, Ted Ball, Ellwood Ball, Sylvia Jean Ball and Leona LaFayette, step-grandfather of 2 grandsons, also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7th from 11am to 12 noon at Royston Funeral Home, 4125 Rectortown Road, Marshall, VA, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with Rev. Bill Tatum officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Jeffersonton, VA. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the Royston Funeral Home to held cover the cost of funeral services.
