Obituary for Berti Ailene Lanning Dover Blacksburg – Berti Lanning Dover, 84, of 577 Lookout Tower Road, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at her residence. Born in Cherokee Falls, Berti was the widow of James “Bill” Dover and the daughter of the late Clyde William Lanning and Ruth Amanda Moore Lanning. Berti is survived by one son, Freddie Dover of Gaffney; two daughters, Billie Lynn Crocker of Fingerville and Lori Jean Byars of Blacksburg; two brothers, Doyle Lanning and Earl Lanning, both of Blacksburg; two sisters, Betty Floyd and Sondra Anderson, both of Blacksburg; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Harry, and Grady Lanning. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 20 from 7:00-8:30 pm Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21 at 3:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel, 400 W Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC with Rev.

Harold Beam and Rev. Vernon Craig officiating. Billy Dover, Danny Dover, Cameron Byars, Joshua Crocker, Joseph Crocker, Lance Mason, and Marty Manning, Jr, will serve as pallbearers.
