Bessie Elizabeth Fair age 93 of Centreville, Michigan passed away Friday evening October 19, 2018 at her home. She was born January 13, 1925 in Charleston Township, Michigan daughter of the late John and Margaret (Sly) Rugg. Mrs. Fair resided in Centreville for over 50 years.

On February 26, 1942 she married Alvin E. Fair in Angola, Indiana. He died October 20, 1995. Bessie was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by six daughters: Linda (Raymond) Mostrum of Sturgis, Lilly (Harold) Shears of Centreville, Virginia (Jerry) Sutherland of East LeRoy, Louann Fair of Centreville, Debra Fair of Centreville and Sara Fair of Jacksonville, Florida; one son: Alvin Fair, Jr. of Centreville; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. Funeral services celebrating the life of Bessie Elizabeth Fair will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. A graveside committal will take place at 2:30 P.M. Thursday at the Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, Michigan.
