Sarah R. Councell age 45 of Coldwater, Michigan was surrounded by her family Thursday afternoon November 29, 2018 when she lost her hard fought battle with cancer. She was born February 1, 1973 in Forest Grove, Oregon daughter of Melvin and Carol (Mobley) Garner. Most of Sarah’s adult life was spent in the Coldwater, Michigan and Angola, Indiana.

She had been employed Seague in Hillsdale and the Hope House in Jonesville. Sarah was a gifted artist. She enjoyed diamond painting, designing and making jewelry and appreciated all types of music.

She was a talented writer and was currently working on writing a book and many will miss her poems. Sarah found great joy in helping others and always found time for someone in need. She is survived by one daughter: Destiny (Chad) Kneipper of New Castle, Colorado; mother: Carol Kaltz of Coldwater; one sister: Kellina (Joshua) Van Gaalen of Rifle, Colorado; three brothers: Landon Garner of Los Angeles, California, Jared Garner of Orlando, Florida and Nicholas Garner of Rifle, Colorado; nephew: Derrick Foster of Denver, Colorado; great niece: Isabelle Foster and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate and honor the life of Sarah R. Councell will be held from 1:00 – 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Quincy Event Hall, 87 W. Chicago St in Quincy. The Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331 is entrusted with the arrangements.
