Obituary for Bessie L. McDonald Bessie L. McDonald, 98 of Grand Bay, Al. , entered eternal rest on June 5, 2018 at Providence Hospital in Mobile surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 22, 1920 in Laurel, MS to the late Charles and Minnie Moss.

Bessie was married January 1, 1948 at 2nd Ave. Baptist Church in Laurel, MS, to Harold McDonald who preceded her in death in 1974. She was a graduate of Wayne County High School and was a lifelong homemaker, caring for what she valued most, her family.

Bessie was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved to decorate and celebrate the season.

Her most cherished times were spent with her family, especially grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Archie “Cracker” McDonald, granddaughter, Angela Charest, and great grandchildren, DJ Simms and Christian McDonald. Survivors include: Sons, Jackie McDonald (Lynn), Robert McDonald (Renee).

Daughters, Marty Charest, and Sandy Lowry (David). Grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Holder Wells Coastal Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. Funeral Service will be begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Please sign the online register book for Mrs. McDonald at www.
