Mrs. Betty Barber Killian, 71, of 15th Street NE, Hickory, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at sister’s residence. Mrs. Killian was born July 11, 1946 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late John D. Barber and Gracie Bollinger Barber. She had worked at a seamstress in the furniture industry and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Dwight Killian; three sisters, Annie Bebber, Nancy Barber and Diane Armstrong; five brothers, John Jr., Larry, Fred, Ernie and Tommy Barber. Those left to cherish her memory include: two sons, Danny Killian and Brian Killian both of Hickory; two grandchildren, Brianna Fox, Darrien Killian; a sister, Linda Rice of Taylorsville; three brothers, Franklin Barber and wife, Frances, David Lee Barber, Michael Barber and wife, Glenda, all of Taylorsville. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Smyrna Baptist Church.

Rev. Michael Barber will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
