Betty Cole November 06, 1924 – January 27, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Betty Cole, 94 of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born in Excelsior, Arkansas on November 6, 1924 to Dave and Iva Hocott Griffin. She lived in Excelsior until she was 5 years old, then moved to the farm on Mt.

Zion Road and attended Greenwood Schools and graduated in 1942. She married Judge Cole in 1950 and lived in Fort Smith most of their married life. She was a member of First Christian Church and was in D.W.F. Group #1 where she served as treasurer for 35 years.

She also volunteered at the Community Clearing House until bad health made her give it up. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Judge Cole, one daughter Kathy Cole Conner, two brothers Harold and Doug Griffin and three sisters; Dorothy Milburn, Corene Rogers and Lorene Needham. She is survived by one son C.H. Budd Cole, one grandson Josh Cole, two great-grandson Bryton and Jackson Cole and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be Wednesday January 30, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Jerad Banks officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews and honorary pallbearers will be Reece Jaber and Gary Don McKinney. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.

Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel is in charge of the service.
